![]() The different emperors just kept building, each trying to outdo the last. It’s easy to imagine them here, strolling around or hurrying off to some meeting or speech. My overall impression of the city of Rome is that it is vast, and the average Roman must have felt very small among all those temples and columns and arches. It’s back out into the city to visit the Forum which we missed last week. But strangely, it’s the nicest hotel we’ve stayed in yet. We drag our luggage over cobbled streets to find our hotel in a back alley. Our apartment over looked the classic red roofs of Milan, making a perfect scene for a beautiful sunset to say good bye to the city.We recognize our location when we get dropped off, and feel like experienced travelers. ![]() ![]() We were sad to have to leave, but excited for our up coming adventures in Venice and Paris! Below is a shot of our last sunset in Milan. After just a few days there, it already felt like home to us. Below I have a shot from Prada at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Corso Como, and La Rinascente.īoth me and my fiancée had such a great time in Milan and absolutely fell in love with the city. My favorite place to shop was La Rinascente, an upscale Italian department store with floor after floor of designer goodies. The shopping in Milan was incredible, they had everything a fashionista’s heart could desire! From fashion steals to high-end luxury, Milan had it all. Other memorable bites included the mozzarella tasting bar, the ever-so-popular happy hour drinks & buffet, and of course gelato and crepes. There’s just so much splendor in the world in the world to discover.Įating was always an fun adventure in Milan! We had so many great meals, from mom and pop spaghetti diners, to fine dining and gourmet! Here’s a shot of a delicious pizza that we had on our very first day in Milan. I wanted to photograph every building! All the detail and handiwork never ceases to amaze me. It’s certainly a work of art in itself.īeautiful architecture was at every corner. I was just in awe of the detail and care that must have gone into the construction of the Duomo cathederal. We stayed right in the center of the city, just few minutes walk away from Duomo (below), one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the world. Using AirBnB was a great choice for us, we had a whole apartment to ourselves, with a full kitchen, and all the living essentials we needed to make our stay comfortable and homey. The location was amazing and we were pretty much walking distance all the sights and everything we needed. We rented traditional Milanese style apartment with one of those cute little gated courtyards, located right in the heart of the city. ![]() We wanted to try to have an authentic experience, and to lived and eat like the locals. Instead of staying at a hotel, we opted to rent an apartment on AirBnB. Below a shot from the airplane as we flew over the cloud covered Italian mountains and countryside. It was the most beautiful display of color and soft light, starting with deep blues and purples, then evolving into pinks and warm oranges, and eventually bright yellows. We flew into Milan in the early hours of the morning, allowing us to catch the sun rising over the Italian countryside. Milan Travel Diary: A Taste of Italy I took so many pictures, so I’ve selected just some of my favorite highlights from my trip to share with you. Me and my fiancée have always wanted to go a Europe trip together, so we were thrilled to have this opportunity. If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you might have noticed that I’ve recently been doing some travelling! We started our adventures in NYC, then it was off to Milan and Venice, and then our last stop was Paris, before coming home-sweet-home to Toronto.
